Its rather difficult being a one man army, running a web site on one hand and dealing with an entrance exam on the other. This leads to these severe and annoying delays in between posts. This is a free to use site for every one and will remain so for ever (as long as it exists).

So......

Are you a beginner, trying out your ear figuring out the notes or chords to a song? Or, are you an expert guitarist, with a huge collection? Do you have any acoustic guitar worthy song ready (tabs and/chords) with you and wish to have it posted on these sites and share it with net guitar community? If so, just send me what you have (preferably in the format used on this site - not mandatory):
  • These are teaching sites and I do all that is possible to make sure that stuff I allow onto this site make a certain grade. I rather not post a song rather than teach wrong things. The following are certain guideline I tend to follow.
  • Only Hindi and Bengali songs can be posted. These are the only two Indian languages that I know and can, therefore, post in. Under no circumstances will I ever post any English song. There are way too many sites for that and I for one do not wish to add to that clutter.
  • I don't want posts lifted from any other website (period). You can send me the link to it and I can post my version of it if I feel I can add something to it. Got a collection of songs from IndianGuitartabs.com? I don't want it (period).
  • This is a guitar site and guitar notation is all I understand. So, that is all that I post on this site.
  • Songs that have a strong presence of a guitar in it, or can be played well on a guitar will be given preference. Grunge or metal like pieces with monotonous chords and very few chord changes will be avoided. This is more of a teaching site and songs that teach something will be posted. Those pieces that add little value to a learner would be avoided. So, when you're sending a song, please make sure that if you were to teach someone the song, it would be of benefit. No beginner would be able to play stuff like Eruption by Van Halen, so there's no place for that kind of stuff on this blog, though its a great song. Other sites exist that have covered it. Its beyond the set scope of this blog.
  • Complete songs (lyrics, tabs and/or chords) as far as possible, should be sent.
  • Chords preferably written on top of the lines (don't worry about the spacing).
  • 1st letter of every line capitalized and not >> Every Word In Caps (preferable)
  • For tabs, use any standard tab notation.
  • Do add your details so that credit can be given to you (You do not need to register/login/etc to do this). If you wish to contribute anonymously - that's possible as well.
  • Theory topics should not have been covered on BMT, but do mention any omissions.
  • Copyrights: Songs that are less than 6 months old from the date of release would not be posted. I tend not to post songs before they turns at least a or two year old in general. This is to give the copyrights holder ample time to release original notations if they so desire. If there are original notations available, that song will not be posted till the song comes into public domain.
  • This is in no way a legally defined time limit. I just use this as a rule of thumb as artists that do release songbooks like Norah Jones do so along with or shortly after they release the music. I do not ever want to host material that competes with sales of any artist and will remove any song on request from a copyrights holder at the earliest.
  • I will go through every song that is sent to me to be posted and make changes that I deem necessary. These may include correction of lyrics, transposition, chord change, elaboration, etc. Please do not take any offense to this. It is necessary to do this in order to maintain a consistency through out the posts, as well as the aesthetics throughout the site. You will get your mention never the less, with all due respect.
  • Please remember, once I've posted a song sent by you, I'll not remove it under request from you. Don't send stuff you don't want posted permanently. On the other hand, do check the index pages to see whether your song is already posted or not. Before sending in corrections, check your version by playing along with the original track.
  • Do not bother about the formatting, typos, etc - everything will be double checked with a track of the song for every one's benefit (again, no offense intended), before I reformat it in the typical 4 page style and make another post giving you full credit. I will also make the DesiChords / BanglaChords signature PDF of the song as is the case for all the songs.

So, if you are in a helping mood, post your contribution in the comments of this page, or send it to me by email (at sarindam7 [at] in.com). Join in and help out with the work load at your leisure.

All the readers and myself awaiting your response........ :o)

    Arindamsaid...

    Hi,
can you please upload the chords and the strumming pattern for the Rabindra Sangeet "Tumi kon kanoner phool".

    It will be very helpful.
    Thanks in advance.

    IndianGuitarChords Tip:

Always tune your guitar before you start playing. Practicing on an out-of-tune instrument makes you sound poorer than you actually are as well as wrecks your ear training. Tune your guitar now - Another reason why the pro guitarists sound so good.^Top^BasicMusicTheory
